Recognize, celebrate and reward the small wins in your business BY DOING THE FOLLOWING ( if you aren’t doing it already):
1. Set monthly targets for your sales team to reach, and offer incentives if sales exceed the target.
This will indirectly encourage your team to market your products and to double efforts to get clients to buy more than they initially intended to.
2. Talk about goals set and goals reached.
Wether this goals are set during a trading quarter, monthly, bi-annually, or weekly it’s entirely up to you. Put those goals on a notice board and when that time period ends, talk to your team about them. If they have been reached, celebrate them, even in the smallest way like ordering pizza for lunch for everyone. If they haven’t been reached, then don’t put it in a way that says ‘we’ve failed’, instead use it to encourage the team to reach them next time. By talking openly about these goals, you are showing transparency and this will build trust.
3. Celebrate your clients.
We all like when stores give small prizes to their 1000th client. Those are exciting times, especially if you are a regular. Start up something like this in your business, if applies, and show your customers (more so the ones that wins) that you appreciate them. It could also means that you get to celebrate that you’ve made a certain amount of sales. That in itself is a win so go on, celebrate it!
4. survey your customers.
Give your customers a survey that is tailor-made to a specific department. It will not only shows you how you’re doing but it will also please you because of the comments some will have to say. There may be an employee going the extra mile and you don’t know about it, or you may find that your burgers are the tastiest on the block. These are unexpected wins, small, but yet an always welcome surprise and a reason to celebrate.
So as you can see, there is so much that you can celebrate. Give yourself, your team, and your clients the recognition and rewards deserved. The small wins are the ones that keep you smiling and give you the impulse to continue forward.
